Jesus commanded us, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel” (Mark 26:15). He also told us that we have to complete this task before He will return, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt 24:14) Many generations have labored to see this command accomplished. Could we see this task completed within the next decade?
The Call2All is a networking organization partnered with us at IHOPKC seeking to synchronize the efforts of mission organizations all over the world. They have held over eighteen Call2All congresses including ours last year in Kansas City. At these congresses, mission organizations have made specific commitments to take the Gospel to the remaining tribes of the earth. At one of these events, Steve Douglass, the president of Campus Crusade for Christ (one of the largest mission organizations in the world) when asked if the Great Commission would be fulfilled in our lifetime remarked, “Absolutely. From the way God is moving today, even without some terrific eye of faith, I have been persuaded it will be fulfilled in our lifetimes and I personally think in the next decade.”
Last month, Steve Douglas and many other mission and church leaders gathered to Kansas City to pray for this very thing to happen. Jesus told us, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Luke 10:2) If we pray perhaps we will see that final thrust of an army of missionaries that will finish the task of taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Then, we can see the return of our Lord!
