I (Theresa) recently met a sweet woman in the bathroom at the prayer room! When she saw me, she immediately said, “Oh! It’s you! Hello!” At first I was confused, and trying to remember where I knew her from. She explained she had just moved here from Switzerland. She told me she has prayed with me for years, she longed to come help and be with us during our difficult season but was just now able to come. It can be easy to forget we have a web stream and cameras that reach hundreds of nations. It was a precious meeting as she felt like a close sister in Christ even though we had never met in person before. It was a beautiful reminder that prayer can connect hearts no matter how great the distance, even oceans apart. Prayer also has the power to travel any distance, and there’s no place God’s Words can not go and touch and make a difference. Most of the time we don’t get to see with our physical eyes the impacts of prayer, but it’s moments like a surprise meeting in the bathroom that can give us a greater revelation of the power of intercession.
German House of Prayer Using Our Webstream to Create a Place for People to Pray 24/7
A few days ago, I (Jonathan) met with the leaders of a house of prayer in Germany, Lobpreishaus Dresden (lobpreishaus.org). They have an incredible ministry where some even live together in community laboring in prayer (reminded me of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s German prayer community). He told me that they are not 24/7 yet but that the room is open 24/7 and whenever they don’t have someone to play live our webstream is playing and people are still in the room encountering God! I was so encouraged by this! The director of the house of prayer asked me many questions and told me about the incredible things God is doing.
I am amazed that God gave Theresa and I independently a moment to realize the global impact we are making. It helped encourage us that even though it is a hard season, our ministry really is bearing fruit.
