It’s 5:35 pm on Friday, May 13th. I am standing in front of Planned Parenthood in Overland Park, KS praying silently that the killing of innocent babies in this place would end. It is day seven of our 22 day “Silent Siege”. There have been anywhere from 30-200 people praying at a time outside of this clinic from 8 am-8 pm every day. Through sun, clouds, rain, and even a tornado warning we have made our stand asking God to deliver the unborn.
Today I feel much like the prophet Ezekiel who was the first one to do a “Silent Siege”. Ezekiel 4:2-4 recounts the intructions God gave this prophet only a few years before the catastrophic destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC,
Then lay siege against it, build a siege wall–set your face toward [the city] so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This is a sign to the house of Israel. As for you, lie down on your left side and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; you shall bear their iniquity for the number of days that you lie on it.
I feel like this is what we are doing. We are “laying a siege” on Planned Parenthood. Frist, we are a sign to America calling this nation to turn and, second, we are, in intercession, “bearing the inquity” of this nation: the blood of 45,886,192 innocent babies (as of 6:39 am, 5/17/05, according to www.silentscream.org). We stand pleading a greater blood: the blood of Jesus, that He would come and wash away the sins of our nation.
At 7:45 pm every day we take communion in front of the clinic praying a simple prayer thousands are praying all over this nation, “Jesus, I plead Your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God end abortion and send revival to America.”
I have hope my children will not live in a society that leagalizes murder. I with many others all over this nation will continue to fight this battle to see, as President Bush said, “a culture of life” established in America.
Baby’s Life Saved By Prayer
The first day that I stood in front of Planned Parenthood I met two Catholic men who have been praying year after year at this clinic every Saturday. One of these men in our time of communion after our stand held up a birthday card. He told us that a woman that day had given this card to him inviting him to her daughter’s birthday. He went on to tell us that this same woman he had persuaded in front of the clinic about seven years ago not to have an abortion and this daughter having the birthday was the baby that was saved. This story spurred us on to continue in our intercession. If we see even one baby saved by our prayers, all of this is worth it!
We are told that the Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic we are standing in front of could be performing as many as 50 abortions per morning. These abortions cost as little as $600 per abortion. It is so chilling to think as we stand praying outside 50 babies die inside. We must continue to fight this battle for LIFE so these little ones can be saved.
Thank you for your continued support as I stand in prayer for the unborn. You are a vital part of this ministry and I can not continue without your help.
