The Heart and Wisdom of Good Administration

Please pray for us in this season that God would:1) continue to stir hearts to pray and minister to the Lord (Luke 10:2) 2) give us wisdom as we get organized building structure for all the things He is wanting to do in this ministry in the days to come 3) strengthen those who are weary

With so much transition the past few months, keeping a 24/7 sanctuary has been more challenging. The prayer room leadership team sent out a survey to our community & staff to help mobilize people to serve in the prayer room over the summer. Over 400 people expressed interest related to serving in various capacities such as singing, sound techs, prayer leading, screens, building the NightWatch, and more! It has been so encouraging after this survey to see so many respond with a desire to help maintain 24/7 prayer with worship! I know God is going to do so much in the days to come.

We see more of God’s heart and wisdom for good administration and organization. Administration isn’t just boring paperwork, but it can actually be one of the most pastoral things we can do making sure people are seen and heard rather than falling through cracks. It can help set people in a place to help them use and express their desires and skills. We are better together. We know it takes the whole body. In David’s Tabernacle we see a picture of this:

Now these are those whom David appointed over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after the ark rested there. They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem; and they served in their office according to their order. These are those who served with their sons: From the sons of the Kohathites {were} Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel… (1 Chronicles 6:31-33)

Specific people were appointed to specific times to sing, play and minister before the Lord continually (1 Chron 16:6, 37, 40; 23:31). Even though this is what we have done for years at IHOPKC, (the only way 24/7 prayer with worship would still be going for almost 25 years!) we know God is highlighting the importance and need for clear and organized administration!
