“Grace to you and peace from…Jesus Christ…who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father…” (Revelation 1:4-6)
This is our only qualification that matters- the blood of the Lamb. The washing of the blood cancels the debt of our sins. Jesus is the One who takes away the sins of the world. Because He died so we can have everlasting life. The blood qualifies us to be seated in heavenly places to rule and reign with Him forever. We were once enemies of God and guilty and buried in our sins. We are now a new creation, sons of God, and His blood speaks a better word over us then our sin. Nothing can now separate us from the love of God. We no longer have to live in shame and fear for Christ now dwells in every believer. Thinking upon the cross of Jesus and the power of His blood will keep us steady all the days of our life, until His glorious return, and forever.
At our worst, and even on our best day, we need the blood of Jesus. It is our only qualification that matters in this life. It doesn’t matter your life circumstance, whether you lead many or live unseen, if you are washed in the blood of the Lamb, your eternal inheritance of being a king and priest with Jesus forever is sure. Meditating on the cross changes how we live today! All the more as the Day of the Lord approaches, the accuser of the brethren, satan himself, tries to get our eyes off of Jesus. This life is full of many troubles and trials. But we overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of our testimony.
So, today, we are praying for you that you would be strengthened to think upon Jesus, His blood, and the cross of Christ. May you be reminded of the dignity you have in Him. “…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)
