Feeding the Poor at Hope City

Despite our community not being able to come into the building, we have been able to distribute groceries to over 700 families at Hope City’s door every week! While wearing masks and gloves, we have been placing groceries into the hands of our community, as well as handing out meals Monday thru Friday. We abide by the Coronavirus guidelines with those coming to receive food lining up 6 feet apart. The food is in abundance and we love how God is continuing to use us to feed the city. In fact, even suburban churches are coming to the inner city to get food from us for their people!

Comforting the Lonely

Our residents were blessed by the care packages our team provided for them. Thank you to all who donated specifically towards these! One resident said, “it means more to us than you know.” Being in isolation from not only the outside world, but from each other has taken a huge toll on the emotional, physical, and mental health of the residents. Our team continues to visit room to room through video chats singing worship songs, helping them process what they are going through, brightening their day, and most importantly praying with them. This technology is certainly novel for many of them. A few residents ask if we are a talking picture, and our favorite remark came from a sweet lady who said, “they can do anything these days!”
