Last month, I got engaged to Theresa Olson! The past two months have been the beginnings of our wonderful adventure planning our August wedding and working to buy a house. It has been an incredible opportunity to grow in trusting Jesus’ leadership.
I am excited to work with Theresa to see Jesus’ name glorified all over the earth. We have begun dreaming of what our lives will look like as our family serves in the house of prayer. We also have a heart for Haiti. We are looking forward to going again. In the meantime, we are working to mobilize prayer for this nation. Theresa and I help lead our weekly prayer meeting for Haiti. As we lead this and other prayer meetings throughout the week, we are leading many all over the earth. In fact, last week, an Egyptian intern thanked me. For the past few years, I helped lead her in prayer through our webstream all the way over in Egypt as I prayed for the ending of abortion and revival to touch the nations.
An exciting opportunity has opened before Theresa and I. We are buying a house! In fact, we are in contract to purchase a home a few blocks away from IHOPKC’s Global Prayer Room building (where we do most of our ministry). We both love the house. Yesterday, I walked through the house with my inspector and was encouraged by the condition of the house. Every time Theresa and I have gone to the house, the neighbors we have seen have greeted us. In fact, while I waiting for the inspector, a boy named Noah saw me and said hi. His mother was in her yard on the phone. Noah came over and we played together while I waited! Who knows what doors of ministry God will open to Theresa and I in this neighborhood.
Theresa and I are full-time intercessory missionaries raising all of our income. We are in process to receive down payment assistance that will help us start out in the mortgage well. However, there are inspections, earnest money, and other costs. I am in need of $1,965 by June 15th then about $2,794 for appliances and for investing in remodeling the basement so we can rent it.
