Mike Bickle, Dr. James & Shirley Dobson Pray at TheCall California

thecallca-1567TheCall California gathered thousands of believers, November 1st to Qualcom Stadium in San Diego for a Solemn Assembly of fasting and prayer. The day of prayer beginning at 10 am and ending at 10 pm was for revival in America, those struggling with homosexuality to encounter Jesus, the elections, and the passage of Proposition 8.

image002-1Among those joining TheCall in prayer were James & Shirley Dobson of Focus on the Family. They shared for a few minutes on the importance of fasting and prayer in this battle for the family. Mrs. Dobson shared her own journey into the necessity of prayer. Dr. Dobson addressed the many protesters inside and outside the stadium telling them that we love them and are praying for them.

LIFE Where do We Go From Here?

Many leaders in our nation will be making statements about what the church is to do after this election. It is seems to be–with the failure of three Pro-LIFE bills nationwide and the election of many Pro-Choice leaders–one of the worst elections for the unborn in a while. I want to give an encouragement, however, that could change the next four years for us.

In a presidency not long ago, the church, in the perspective of many, failed in a large measure. As Pro-Choice President Bill Clinton took the reigns of our nation, the church mostly, instead of praying for him, spoke negative against him. We failed to heed the instruction given by the Apostle Paul written as the reigns of Rome were in the hands of a man who burned Christians as torches in his yard,

1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.1 Timothy 2:1-4

I pray that the church has matured to a place that we will not make the same mistake. If we pray for President-elect Barak Obama who knows what God could do? Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he wishes.” If we pray, perhaps God will change Mr. Obama’s heart concerning the issue of abortion. I am personally determining, by God’s grace to pray for this man very often. Will you join me in praying for this man over the next four years?

image003-2Leading Prayer During the Elections

This past month, we have focused much of our prayer on the elections. On Tuesday, November 4th we cried out for God to have mercy on America. We prayed specifically that night for God to touch voters in our city, for the passage of the South Dakota Abortion Ban, and for California. The prayer gripped the entire room. Many fell to their faces weeping and crying out for mercy on our nation. I know that God heard our prayers.
