The Smoky Mountains of Tennessee Declare the Glory of God

smokey_mountains_075Last month on a short two-day solitude retreat in the Smoky Mountains, I looked upon the breathtaking landscapes that unfolded in front of me and my prayer to the Lord was, “Oh if these mountains are this glorious, how glorious must You be?” I began to contemplate that all of creation exists to shout of the beauty of this Everlasting One. Every auburn Kansas morning sky, every star distances away that would fill this page with numbers, every cloud caressing the mountain landscape exists to dimly reflect our Glorious God.

smokey_mountains_057For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse -Romans 1:20

Creation makes visible, in part, the invisible characteristics and elements of the nature of God. Creation is both a witness and a testimony to His eternal power and His existence from forever past. In these things we behold as in a dim mirror a reflection of the glory of God. Thank you so much for your prayers. I did encounter the Lord!

Knoxville House of Prayer

My first reason for going out to Tennessee was to attend the wedding of one of my good friends from IHOPKC. The wedding happened to be at another House of Prayer starting up: Knoxville House of Prayer. I was able to speak with some of the leadership of this house of prayer and get a gauge of where they are at in their journey towards 24/7 worship and prayer in Knoxville. During this time I was able to minister, encourage and prophesy over the leader of their healing rooms. I also led a group of children in worship at a Knoxville Baptist Church. God is certainly moving in this younger generation right now!

I was also able to visit with my sister and her family in Clarksville, TN getting to hold my precious newborn nephew, Daymon Elisha. It was wonderful!

While in Clarksville on Wednesday night, I led worship at one of the small groups of my sister’s church. I was able to encourage many of the people in this group during the time of worship with specific words I felt from the Lord. I was encouraged to see many visibly touched by the power of the Spirit.

The next morning I taught the church’s prayer group on the sixteen values of our prayer model at the International House of Prayer. I shared with the group some of these essential values that have sustained night and day prayer for seven years at IHOPKC.
